AirTroductions™ - There's Something in the Air

Whether you’re looking for a date in Los Angeles, a business networking partner in Tokyo, or just someone to share a cab from Kennedy to Midtown, look no further. You’ve found AirTroductions™.

My name is Melissa Lafsky, I’m a 27-year-old attorney living in downtown Manhattan. I grew up in the D.C. Metropolitan area, got a B.A. from Dartmouth College in 2000 and received my J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2004.

After leaping between several law firms in Manhattan, I began a blog in March of 2005 discussing my various experiences as a law firm paralegal, summer associate and junior attorney. Within a month, the blog was discovered by Gawker, a popular Manhattan media website. Readers flooded the blog by the thousands, and by December of 2005 it had been profiled in the New York Times, the New York Post, the Harvard Law Record, the ABA Journal, Newsday and other media.

Daily visits to the blog topped ten thousand per day, people were commenting on posts by the hundreds, and I began receiving fan mail, requests for legal advice, solicitations for affairs and anonymous threats to reveal my identity and thus get me fired. I also began meeting fellow bloggers and various journalists, developing a novel based on the blog and exploring writing opportunities outside the law firm realm, all in my copious spare time. Sleep became a distant memory.
