Einmal ist Keinmal
I love the internet for the sense of connection and the sense of distance, I love to find webpages made by ordinary people gossiping about themselves, or talking about there perspectives, or even shouting about what they consider right or wrong, I will not talk about the less perfect hidden wishes and dreams and webpages I look through, but I'll mention that I will probably enjoy anything anyone might say as long as it shows me human things (maybe that qualifies for voyeurism?)

Chances are, we as publicists could stand to think a little different. A little more "weird." A little less by the book, and a little more "out there." We could probably stand to try things a little differently. Things that weren't "done that way before" because "we've always done them that way before." We could probably stand to break a rule or two. Perhaps I can offer a few ways to help us think - just a little bit different. And that includes occasionally thinking about things that might not be 100% about PR. A Blog from Peter Shankman, CEO of The Geek Factory, a PR and Marketing boutique firm in New York City.

The Human Internet
About. com was founded in 1996 with a simple premise, that people are the best Guides to the Internet. We have built on that belief over the past decade. Today, when you read an article on About.com, you are tapping into a powerful network of 500 Guides -- smart, passionate, accomplished people who are experts in their field. Our Guides have written books, appeared on national television and won many awards in their field. For instance, our Headaches Guide was recently recognized as a top patient advocate by the National Headache Foundation. Our Table Tennis Guide is a two-time Olympian and our Pediatrics Guide is a board certified Pediatrician & Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Founded by Eric Schwartzman, the former director of promotions at Rogers & Cowan, Schwartzman & Associates was established in 1999 to offer technology, media and entertainment clients responsible, senior-level counsel with an emphasis on online public relations and marketing campaigns. He is also the founder and chairman of iPressroom Corporation, which helps organizations extend the impact of their public relations, corporate communications and marketing programs through easy-to-use, dynamic communications software tools and services. His podcast, "On the Record...Online" features mainstream journalists and influential bloggers discussing how technology is changing the news media business.
