NBC 4 Report on the Jefferson 1
Act 3: The Reaction
Act 2: The Arrest
Act 1: Dance Interrupted
Free the Jefferson 1
group of people to question the tactics and authority of others, and
to assume among the Powers of the Interwebs, the separate and equal
Station to which the Laws of Nature and the Constitution entitle
them, a decent respect to the First Amendment requires that they
should declare the causes which impel them to Action.
WE hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all men are created
equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain
inalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the
ability to quietly listen to 80s hip-hop in the Jefferson Memorial—
That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men,
deriving their just Powers from the Governed—yeah that's right, we
said BY THE GOVERNED—that whenever any agent of the Government
becomes obstructive of these Ends, it is the Right of the People to
get all kinds of pissed off. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Laws
long established (read First Amendment) should not be ignored for
light and transient Causes; and that "bopping" silently to Rob Base
and DJ EZ Rock is one of lightest and most transient of causes we've
ever heard of.
This website is dedicated to our friend, Brooke Oberwetter, who was
wrongfully arrested for legitimately questioning authority. To that
end, we have three goals that we seek to achieve through our actions:

The Case Against Obama | Primetime Politics
This video put together by Eyeblast TV compiles a number of arguments against Barack Obama into a slick narrative. It's a great preview of what Obama will face in the general election should he be the Democratic nominee.

Have you seen a truly awful piece of Photoshop work? Clumsy manipulation, senseless comping, lazy cloning and thoughtless retouching are our bread and butter. And yes, deep down, we love Photoshop.

PopMatters
PopMatters seeks essays (1,200 to 3,000 words, usually) about any aspect of popular culture, present or past. (If you are interested in pitching a review of some specific current work or performance, please contact the appropriate reviews editor.) We prefer careful analysis of the chosen subject matter with the intention of supporting an original thesis; we aren't particularly interested in articles that merely want to promote their subject. An assessment of what ideological work a given pop culture phenomenon performs (i.e. what has allowed something to become popular, what's at stake in its popularity besides money, how it is situated in a historical or geographical context, etc.) is especially welcome. Ideally essays will draw on sophisticated interpretive strategies derived from a theoretically informed point of view but will be presented for a general reader in lively, accessible language.
Pajiba - Scathing Reviews for Bitchy People
Based ostensibly in Ithaca, New York, Pajiba has offices (and by "offices," we mean guys and gals writing reviews on kitchenette tables in their overpriced hovels or in their cubicles during office hours) in Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Boston, Tulsa, small-town Pennsylvania, and even Fayetteville, Arkansas. If you lurk in the comments section for any length of time, you'll also notice that we have several regular commenters (often referred to as The Eloquents) who make their own valuable contributions to the Pajiba experience.
Pajiba is a film, book, and television review site, though we used to feature weekly political commentary as well.
