Augean Stables

We dedicate this weblog to exploring the many aspects of our MSM's problem, not only those concerned with the Middle East problem, but more broadly with the many ways in which our media's errors and our media's extraordinary resistance to admitting their errors, have contributed and continue to contribute to the serious problems that plague our globe in this young 21st century.

The Second Draft

We are a media oversight venue for discussing how the media processes the information they gather and present to the public as news. Journalism likes to call itself the "first draft of history," and in this age when media plays an increasingly powerful role in shaping public opinion, it can not only write the first draft, but play an active part in that history.

Fame Game

By collecting event photography, media mentions, and search trends, Fame Game is able to track the "fame" of over 100,000 people and 2,500 organizations in New York.

The site is powered by our proprietary algorithm, which we like to call ANDY, that identifies the fastest rising people in the media. So far, it has analyzed over 600,000 photos to determine connections between players of the game. Fame Game updates its database each morning using new information imported from the previous day's media.

What Fame Game does:

Fame Game is a different way to look at Fame. The website helps to make transparent the process by which people and organizations use their fame to increase the visibility of things they care about.

In this way, emerging artists, business leaders and personalities can garner more attention from the media, allowing them to assume (and re-invent) the role that publicists traditionally fill.

Buildings, and people. We use buildings, make them, design them, damage them, love them. Archiplanet is a community-constructed collection for all the buildings, building users, and building creators on planet Earth.

"Community-constructed" means we are creating this site together, with 116,760 pages as of 24 May, 2008. Archiplanet uses the same easy open source MediaWiki software as the famous Wikipedia. Any registered user can edit or create almost any page at Archiplanet, with helpful support from the Archiplanet staff. Comprehensive change-tracking and community reciprocality back up this radically open collective-creation approach.

2008 Presidential Election Interactive Map and History of the Electoral College

Interactive map for do-it-yourself projections of the electoral college results in the presidential election. Includes results of prior elections. - Something for Everyone

Twenty-nine years old and still wondering what I am going to do when I grow up. I've dabbled in this and that and have enjoyed success in everything that I've done, but to claim that I have one passion that I want to spend the rest of my life pursuing would be a gross misrepresentation. Am I atypical? I don't think so. Remember when you wanted to be a firefighter/doctor/vet/astronaut/superhero? I've decided there's no good reason why I shouldn't try everything out and where better to do that but in Vancouver! I'm not saying I'll be pulling any bodies out of burning buildings anytime soon but if there's someone in town who can teach me how, not only will I jump at the chance, but you'll read about or watch it right here. This blog will feature articles, as well as an extensive video library about anything and everything under the sky.

The impetus for this initiative actually stems from my last job. As an Associate Producer for Citytv's Breakfast Television, I was afforded the rare opportunity to work with and meet many of the country's - and the world's - greatest minds. When I decided to leave the company, the greatest sacrifice was the loss of that invaluable resource of information. That is, until I realized it didn't have to be a loss after all. What better medium is there to share a thought or convey an idea than the web! Instead of only introducing guests to Canadian viewers, why not open up the doors to the rest of the world! Sure beats having to set your machine to record your favourite show eh?
Welcome to, where there is always something for everyone.

Appartement de Ville : Short term furnished apartment rental in Paris

Today, travelling and getting from one place to another is quite easy.
However, this relative ease should not let us forget an essential fact
our well-being in the space we choose to stay. In a city as large as Paris, this space is essential, both in terms of spirit and comfort.
It plays an important role in the quality
of our discovery of the city.

Pretzel reviews - Snacks in this category: 249's Reviews of Potato Chips and Snacks is the most comprehensive snack food site on the Interweb, featuring independent reviews of more than 3000 snacks. In addition to snack reviews, has information on Krispy Kreme doughnuts, chicken nuggets, grilled cheese sandwiches, chocolate milk, snack mascots and more.

Primarily, we consider the six major food groups: Potato Chips, Popcorn, Pretzels, Cheese Puffs, Tortilla Chips and Corn Chips. We'll generally try any other kind of salty snack as well. We'll often consider any snack that comes in a bag that roughly resembles a bag of chips. Any item that has the word "snack" somewhere in its name will usually receive consideration. We normally won't consider snacks that require refrigeration to store or need to be cooked before being eaten. Beyond those criteria, we decide on a case-by-case basis whether each item merits a review.

Martins Pretzels - Martin's pretzels are the best in the world. Hands down!

We are a committed group of conservatives concerned that Barack Hussein Obama would be the worst possible President for America at this time, or any time. Together we have years and years of experience at all levels of political campaigns along with the skill to implement our plan.

Obama is not the candidate of Hope (a better tomorrow, victory over Islamo Fascism, a stronger economy, less regulation, lower taxes) and Change (uphold the Constitution, reduce the federal government to its Constitutional mandates, return a Conservative majority to Washington DC, appoint Conservative judges), rather he is the candidate who hopes for kind of change that the lessons of history repudiate (increase social spending, increase entitlements, increase regulation, crush corporations, control the economy, reduce the military and negotiate with our enemies).

Obama is a liberal, only slightly more stylish than Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, but equally dedicated to the same causes. He will not bring unity or harmony rather he will bring back the confusion, depression and humiliation of the dismal Carter era.

Paid for by the National Campaign Fund and not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee. is a project of the National Campaign Fund.

WorldProxy202 - Proxies from around the world at your fingertips.

WorldProxy202 is desgined for affiliate marketers promoting international campaigns. We have put together in one location, proxies from around the world that affiliate marketers can now easily use to view international campaigns.

If for instance, there is a campaign that only accepts US traffic, anyone not in the US is blocked from seeing the offer. Now what if this is simply someone in Canada trying to promote a US related campaign but is unable to see it because Canada is a blocked from seeing the offer? This makes it extremely difficult sometimes for affiliate marketeres to promote effectively overseas. WorldProxy202 is a simple application to solve all of that, and provide reliable proxy webistes from around the world for affiliate marketeres to use. If that same Canadian affiliate now uses a US Proxy with our services, they can now see the offer, and see everything like they were on a US computer.

We are commited to providing as many access points around the globe as needed, if you need a proxy location that is not listed please contact us below and we'll try to add it! Finally, like everything else we create, WorldProxy202 is a free service.

Monday, May 19, 2008 - Serialized audio books in podcast form

The termpodiobooks was coined by Evo Terra to describe serialized audio books which are made available in podcast format. Listeners to can choose to receive the episodes of their books via an RSS feed or by listening to episodes by directly downloading episodes from this site. Some listeners keep the audio files on their computers, some transfer the book to CD, but most transfer the file on to their mp3 player so they can listen no matter where they are.

Why are the books on free of charge? Many authors do this to get exposure for their work, others do it in the hopes you'll buy their next work in development. Still others simply do it for the sheer joy of writing. And while it's not required, you have the option to donate money to the author of your choice. When you consider that audio books run usually 50% more than their hardcover counterparts... we hope you'll be generous. Authors receive 75% of all the proceeds from the donations from listeners. The smaller portion goes to the maintenance and upkeep of

What is NetLibrary?

eContent isn't new to libraries. What is new is the ever-widening array of choices and eResources available through the Web. As formats, languages and technologies multiply, so does the challenge to manage and deliver quality content — in ways that will work both today and tomorrow.

NetLibrary meets that challenge as the most versatile eContent provider for libraries and publishers today. It supports the most content from leading publishers, the most types of media — including eBooks and eAudiobooks — the widest audience of users and the most types of libraries. NetLibrary takes you far beyond the world of eBooks to provide a flexible and stable eContent platform that is positioned for continual rapid content growth.

History of quality and content

NetLibrary launched the eBook category and is fast growing to become the eContent provider of choice for academic, community college, public and many other libraries. It offers easy-to-use functionality with access to multiple formats and best-selling titles from the world's leading publishers.

As OCLC's eContent division, NetLibrary represents a unique dual heritage: a trusted partner for librarians and publishers, with a firm commitment to technological innovation on behalf of end-users. NetLibrary combines the time-honored traditions of the library system with the latest in electronic publishing and content delivery.

More subjects, more languages, faster search

NetLibrary's eContent catalog never stops growing. More than 160,000 titles and hundreds of global publishers already represent a comprehensive inventory of trade, reference and STM content. But there are even more types of content coming — in more subjects and more languages. And it's becoming faster to search all that new content seamlessly across multiple formats.

Google Health

Google Health allows you to store and manage all of your health information in one central place. And it's completely free. All you need to get started is a Google username and password.
Google believes that you own your medical records and should have easy access to them. The way we see it, it's your information; why shouldn't you control it?
  • Keep your doctors up-to-date
  • Stop filling out the same paperwork every time you see a new doctor
  • Avoid getting the same lab tests done over and over again because your doctor cannot get copies of your latest results
  • Don't lose your medical records because of a move, change in jobs or health insurance
With Google Health, you manage your health information — not your health insurance plan or your employer. You can access your information anywhere, at any time.

7. How does Google Health protect the privacy of my health information?
You should know two main things up front:
  1. We will never sell your personal health information or data
  2. We will not share your health data with individuals or third parties unless you explicitly tell us to do so or except in certain limited circumstances described in our privacy policy.
Google Privacy Policy

Google only shares personal information with other companies or individuals outside of Google in the following limited circumstances:

We have your consent. We require opt-in consent for the sharing of any sensitive personal information.

We provide such information to our subsidiaries, affiliated companies or other trusted businesses or persons for the purpose of processing personal information on our behalf. We require that these parties agree to process such information based on our instructions and in compliance with this Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.

We have a good faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of such information is reasonably necessary to (a) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request, (b) enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations thereof, (c) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues, or (d) protect against imminent harm to the rights, property or safety of Google, its users or the public as required or permitted by law.
