The sentences of Sarah Palin, diagrammed. - By Kitty Burns Florey - Slate Magazine

There are plenty of people out there—not only English teachers but
also amateur language buffs like me—who believe that diagramming a
sentence provides insight into the mind of its perpetrator. The more
the diagram is forced to wander around the page, loop back on itself,
and generally stretch its capabilities, the more it reveals that the
mind that created the sentence is either a richly educated one—with a
Proustian grasp of language that pushes the limits of expression—or
such an impoverished one that it can produce only hot air, baloney,
and twaddle.

In a few short weeks, Sarah Palin has produced enough poppycock to
keep parsers and diagrammers busy for a long time.

The Movie Blog’s 10 Best Animated Films Of All Time

Making any sort of "Top 10″ list is always a tricky and dangerous thing. As I always say, all film is subjective, and that means no one on the planet will 100% agree with my list (and believe it or not, you'll have a hard time finding people who 100% agree with your list too), and the real beauty of it is that neither of us is objectively wrong. That's the best thing about film.

So why have these lists? Because they're great for discussion and debate and give us as film fans yet another excuse just to think about, talk about and celebrate some of the greatest movies ever made. So why not?

Exactly 3 years ago today, I put up my first Top 10 Animated Films list, so I thought it would be an interesting exercise to do another list, and then see how it has changed from the original one I did. I'd also like to repeat something I said back in 2005:

"I should also mention that I'm NOT ranking these by technical merit. If I was, then Final Fantasy The Spirits Within would be #1. I'm ranking these by how well they performed as movies. Did they make me FEEL something, laugh, get choked up and most importantly get interested in the characters and their story."

So with that said, I now present to you The Movie Blog's Top 10 Best Animated Films of All Time.

ShoeMoney® - Just Livin The Dream

In the 1980's, Jeremy Schoemaker's mom purchased an Apple IIc. Schoemaker found it amazing! He began to write simple programs on the Apple, mostly consisting of repeating test messages that said, "My mom is cool.

1995-Schoemaker was an appliance salesman at Sears when a customer offered him a job at an ISP in Moline, IL. He was known to have "computer skills as he spent most of his free time at work playing games. "I knew nothing about the Internet and had a very limited knowledge of computers. The ISP had only Linux based terminals so Schoemaker had to quickly learn system software, web server management and mail system management.

Schoemaker compares those early days of educations to a "karate kid experience. "I thought it was all pointless hard work, but in hindsight, I could see that over the course of two years, I had gained the foundation of a very useful skill set. He also witnessed the birth of the Internet. Working at the ISP also demonstrated to him how much money could be earned in a number s game with a market place as big as the Internet.

He left the ISP and went to college at a time when there was no such thing as spam or phishing schemes on the Internet. In college, Schoemaker founded his first business making Macintosh gaming sites. Those early sites became very popular and allowed him to practice his skills, focus his talents and avoid ever completing a college degree.

"I didn't go to class much and instead was taking calls from companies wanting to advertise on my site. All these places had newly created on-line advertising budgets. With on-line advertising, they could see instant and direct returns from their advertising dollar.

"With the help of my wife and her stable income as a physician, I was able to make a break from corporate life and start ShoeMoney Media Group. From the company's inception, Schoemaker has embraced the mantra, "prioritize potentially profitable projects. He is constantly generating new ideas for sites, programs and marketing, channeling energy into those that truly have the potential for long-term traffic and revenue.

KidZui - The Internet for Kids

Cliff, Vidar and Tom build businesses. They sold their last one,
Infogate, in 2003. Then they set off on a quest to find the next cool
thing to build. They spent a lot of time searching the Internet for
ideas. At one point, Vidar noticed his kids were spending a lot of time
on the Internet too, but mostly, this made him quite nervous, as the
Internet is no place to let kids roam unsupervised. Vidar's realization
of how difficult it was to empower his three boys to navigate the
Internet safely on their own was the inspiration for KidZui.

While the trio identified that kids were being excluded from the power
and promise of the Internet, they saw how others were trying to solve
this by offering kids narrow, limited Internet experiences. There were
products out there that constricted the Internet down to a handful of
sites, often purely commercial, but there was nothing with any breadth.

The KidZui browser was designed to offer kids the same expansive
experience adults have on the web. KidZui brought together a team of
over 200 teachers and/or parents to scour the web in search of the best
content for kids. The founders engaged their kids, nieces and nephews to
assess the initial product; they were later joined by over 5,000 other
curious young beta-testers and their parents.

Rather than filter the Internet, KidZui's founders built an entirely new
one – customized for kids. Instead of reducing, KidZui expands. There
are already over 800,000 websites, pictures and videos in KidZui, all
painstakingly reviewed by caring teachers and parents just like you. And
the process continues 24/7 with new kid-friendly content added daily.

Sarah Palin Can't Name a Newspaper She Reads

Dadsense by Anita Renfroe

Momsense - Anita Renfroe -William Tell Overture

"The Mom Song"

Get up now
Get up now
Get up out of bed
Wash your face
Brush your teeth
Comb your sleepyhead
Here's your clothes and your shoes
Hear the words I said
Get up now! Get up and make your bed
Are you hot? Are you cold?
Are you wearing that?
Where's your books and your lunch and your homework at?
Grab your coat and gloves and your scarf and hat
Don't forget! You gotta feed the cat
Eat your breakfast, the experts tell us it's the most important meal of all
Take your vitamins so you will grow up one day to be big and tall
Please remember the orthodontist will be seeing you at 3 today
Don't forget your piano lesson is this afternoon so you must play
Don't shovel
Chew slowly
But hurry
The bus is here
Be careful
Come back here
Did you wash behind your ears?
Play outside, don't play rough, will you just play fair?
Be polite, make a friend, don't forget to share
Work it out, wait your turn, never take a dare
Get along! Don't make me come down there
Clean your room, fold your clothes, put your stuff away
Make your bed, do it now, do we have all day?
Were you born in a barn? Would you like some hay?
Can you even hear a word I say?
Answer the phone! Get off the phone!
Don't sit so close, turn it down, no texting at the table
No more computer time tonight!
Your iPod's my iPod if you don't listen up
Where are you going and with whom and what time do you think you're coming home?
Saying thank you, please, excuse me makes you welcome everywhere you roam
You'll appreciate my wisdom someday when you're older and you're grown
Can't wait till you have a couple little children of your own
You'll thank me for the counsel I gave you so willingly
But right now I thank you not to roll your eyes at me
Close your mouth when you chew, would appreciate
Take a bite maybe two of the stuff you hate
Use your fork, do not burp or I'll set you straight
Eat the food I put upon your plate
Get an A, get the door, don't get smart with me
Get a grip, get in here, I'll count to three
Get a job, get a life, get a PHD
Get a dose of,
"I don't care who started it!
You're grounded until you're 36"
Get your story straight and tell the truth for once, for heaven's sake
And if all your friends jumped off a cliff would you jump, too?
If I've said it once, I've said at least a thousand times before
That you're too old to act this way
It must be your father's DNA
Look at me when I am talking
Stand up straighter when you walk
A place for everything and everything must be in place
Stop crying or I'll give you something real to cry about
Oh!
Brush your teeth, wash your face, put your PJs on
Get in bed, get a hug, say a prayer with mom
Don't forget, I love you
And tomorrow we will do this all again because a mom's work never ends
You don't need the reason why
Because, because, because, because
I said so, I said so, I said so, I said so
I'm the mom, the mom, the mom, the mom, the mom!!
Ta da!!!

New York Social Diary

The business of a web site had been a burning idea in my imagination since the early 1990s when it was apparent to me that the Internet was where we were going, because the Internet is laying the foundation of the world community or the community of the world. Through the technology we will learn more about our complexity and our similarity, assisting the transformations that societies must always make with time and age.
